How much does a mortician make? According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (bls.gov), the average national salary for morticians is $54,330. This is $20,000 more than the national average for all occupations, and for other workers within the funeral industry.
The top 10 percent of morticians made more than $98,000. Often, the highest earners are those who work in metropolitan areas. New York City, Connecticut, and New Jersey are among the top-paying locations for morticians.
The number of hours worked per week affects a mortician’s salary as well. Further, a funeral director who has also been trained to work as an embalmer commands greater pay than one who does not have those skills. You forgot to put Indiana on the list.
I’m a student doing a project on morticians and I am doing a bibliography that has your site in it and I was wondering if someone could inform me when this was published so I can cite this properly but if not that is fine too, thanks.
