Unified results with the Concept Web Navigator

The WikiProfessional Concept Web Navigator enables access to our unified system that combines concept based search with a new professional wiki which is designed to maximize the collective intelligence of a million minds.

Understanding the search results:

This panel lists a selection of the literature that was used to compile the Knowlet. A variety of computational techniques are used to evaluate more literature than any person could effectively read, and then to present an overview of the concept web associated with a given Life Sciences topic.
This is a visual representation of the factual, co-occurrence, and associative relations and the strength of their relationship to the query concept. The concepts in the first bin (left) are more closely related to the query concept than the concepts shown in last bin (right). The related concepts that are shown in the histogram are listed below the histogram.
Concepts can be explored to understand their relationship to the query concept. The evidence can be found under the explain button . A concept-to-concept relation is explained by a value based on three main types of relationships: factual (F) statements found in scientific databases, the co-occurrence (C) of two concepts in a text, and an associative (A) parameter based on conceptual overlap.
An excerpt of WikiProteins annotations are shown in the right hand panel. The Wiki editing page can be directly accessed from the information fields presented, so that new information can be easily added. After registration, all modifications are attributed to the participating scientist and certain granting agencies have indicated that they are interested in using the resulting contributions as indices of scholarly achievement.
